Is it available anywhere? Any plans for a re-release elsewhere in the world? I'd really love to get a copy of it, although at this point I can't really blow $30-50 on a CD on ebay.

Try this...not sure if they ship to the US, but I've two copies of In The Red and the live dvd from there shipped to the UK and it took less than a week both times!

And if they do you can get the dvd...which is absolute CLASS!!

I ordered a copy of Notes from the bandbox website... not sure of the exact address, but if you google "bandbox, Denmark" it comes up, and they have an English translation of the website. Under "search" at the website, type Tina Dickow, and there's a hole list of stuff from music to t-shirts available, including the album Notes.... my copy should be here (Seattle, WA) next week.
And thanks for the info on the DVD, folks. I'll just have to play it in a computer. I guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed that Tina might release a version available in the States?

Agreed. This is a class site. The home page doesn't mention US as an option but I guess you could contact them - it's a sale for them after all..!! :)

Thanks for the info guys. :) I really don't have much cash right now but hopefully in a month or two things will be a bit better and I can grab it.
Apparently there's another album called "Fuel" that's even older...are either of these really worth getting? I mean, eventually I'll get them just because I'm a completist, but in all honesty is it worth the effort?

I think so! In my honest opinion, Notes is her best album so far.
And Fuel has a nice, "live" feel to it, although it's easy to hear it's early Dico. But that's not a bad thing ;)

I would agree 1000%. My favourite album she has done!

Regarding Notes, it's a good album, but I found the production sounded a little too raw/cheapy to prefer it over her other albums. The version of Break of Day is a bit of a let down too compared to the amazing version on Far. I think Undone is the stand-out track on Notes, but the whole album is very listenable.
As to Fuel, it's a pretty good album as well. I don't think she's found her perfect voice on it though. I might be imagining it, but her vocals seem a little forced on a couple of the more 'country' sounding tracks. The album is worth getting for 'Your Waste of Time' alone, although Fuel, Back Where You Started and well, most of the others make it all worth the money.
I recommend getting all her albums if you can afford it. Your CD collection will just look a little sad and incomplete without them! ;)

It's so weird but that is what I love about that album. It sounds so raw. I adore it!
The sound of the guitars on Notes is amazing. Listen to Warm Sand and Let's Get Lost for example!

Far versions are better though. Still, they're both excellent songs, on both albums. Was a bit surprised to see Warm Sand for a third time on In the Red though, it's been done enough times surely!

Yeah, but to be fair, probably 95% of the people outside of Denmark who heard In The Red probably hadn't heard "Warm Sand" before. When you're making an album that's going to have infinitely more promotion and availablility, you pick the best of what you got and assume most people haven't heard your old stuff since it's so hard to find.

Yes, but then if you're going to add your best, then missing out 'Break of Day' is criminal. It's her best tune in my opinion, although 'Nobody's Man' is a close second. It's also potential single material, whereas Warm Sand seemed a bit of a strange choice for the first UK single off the album. Then again, I think I'd get fed up of Break of Day if it was on another album. That's whats happened to me and my love for Warm Sand.

*shrug* It's tough to be objective about your own work. Jon Bon Jovi always talks about how he never thought "Livin' On A Prayer" would be a single and how it almost didn't make the Slippery When Wet album. Our idea and Tina's idea of her best songs are going to be different, just because we're listening from a completely different perspective.
