Hey there!
News on the way for the new album!

It will come out on Semptember 3rd in Denmark, and the first single "On The Run" will be available on itunes since August 13th!

The tracklist of the album (i think it will be called Count To Ten) is:

Count To Ten
On The Run
Open Wide
Night Cab
You Know Better
Sacre Coeur
Craftsmanship And Poetry
My Business
Cruel To The Sensitive Kind
Everybody Knows
(Night Cab Epilogue)

..and it's not over yet!
Tina will record a P3 live session on August 31th, and she will play in 3 gigs already scheduled for Denmark!

(i hope i haven't told You too many bullshit, 'cause i've translated it from danish language!! :P )

I'm sure it's an original, but it would be kind of interesting to hear Tina cover Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows." Great tune.

Record company incompetency aside, thanks for the info. :)

"CDON" are advertising a limited edition version as well as the standard one. No info yet but you can set an email 'update' for it.

Hope it's a bonus disc and not just a digi-format type thing

Why wait? Once it's out somewhere it's out everywhere. The upside of the internet. ;)

Great news! Thank you very much for the infos, Farguss.

Would be great if someone could send me a PM when there are news next time because I just read this thread... And I really want to post it on the fanpage as soon as possible. Or maybe you just drop me a line via myspace, that would be very helpful!

Does anyone know if Chris Potter is involved with Tina's new album? I'm quite familiar with him, being a huge fan of The Verve and Richard Ashcroft, and I thought he did an excellent job mixing In The Red and I do hope he's involved with her new one.

Nop, he is not involved with the new album, i don't remember the name of the new guy (yeah Tina you can kill me) anyway... There isn't Chris Potter Anymore...:(

That sucks. :( I mean, it doesnt affect the quality of the songs, but Potter was at the helm of some amazing sounding records.

I just hope Tina doesn't pull a Beth Orton and decide to make an album that intentionally sounds like it was recorded in 2 days in a basement. (i.e. Comfort Of Strangers)

New songs are comin' on Tina's myspace until Semptember 3rd, and since today we can listen to another new track in there: You Know Better.

I love it! it's really a great song i think.. even if i think that this studio version deprive the song of "something"..

anyway i've said that i love it!! ^_-

Please someone correct it and integrate the missing parts! :D

You Know Better

It's late in the afternoon
The light falls through the window
It draws a cross
Above my bed

We're on a different moon
?
inside your head

You think that maybe something's wrong with you
To make you doubt you love like this
Well i guess i'm singin' out this song to you
To let you know i think there is

But you know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Well maybe ?
All the promises are broken thoughtlessly
I know there's no way to leave
Well maybe is mistress, i say
Feelin' than anyone close enough to see
That you've got nothing to give

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well, i think you'd find out if you ? to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

But you know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Uh Ooooh
?
That you ever gamble anything for love
What you give is what you get
And now you know it's not enough

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well, i think you'd find out if you ? to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

But you know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

This song is great! After reading your post I checked myspace and I was sure to know the track. Looking at all the old albums I couldnt find it. Then I remembered the concert in Saarbrücken, she played the song there.

I hope the other tracks on her new album are as good as this one!

I really wonder why there are no tracks that were already on "A beginning"? I thought that the EP would be a "small pre-release" while creating the album?

great song I already love it.

I made some changes in the lyrics and filled in the blanks. Improvements are welcome:)

You Know Better

It's late in the afternoon
The light falls through the window
It draws a cross
Above my bed

Well you're on a different moon
Where violent winds blow with no course
inside your head

You think that maybe something's wrong with you
To make you doubt your love like this
Well i guess i'm singin' out this song to you
To let you know i think there is

But you know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Well maybe it's selfishness, You say
All the promises are broken thoughtlessly
I know there's no way to life
Well maybe it's mere distress, i say
Feelin' than anyone close enough to see
That you've got nothing to give

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well, i think you'd find out if you dare to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

But you know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Uh Ooooh
Did you ever place a bet
Did you ever gamble anything for love
What you give is what you get
And now you know it's not enough

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well, i think you'd find out if you dare to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

You can now hear another single off Tina's soon-to-be-released album, "Count to Ten" -- You Know Better -- on her myspace page!!!
(I've listened to it at least 10 times already :p )

Here's what I can make out of the lyrics... please feel free to make corrections.

You Know Better

It’s late in the afternoon
The light falls through the window
It draws across above my bed
We’re on a different moon
Where violent winds blow with no course
Inside your head

You think that maybe something’s wrong with you
To make you doubt your love like this
Well I get something in & out this song to you
To let you know I think there is

You know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Well maybe it’s selfishness, you say
Although promises are broken thoughtlessly
I know that’s no way to live
Well maybe it’s mistake, I say
Feeling that anyone close enough to see
That you got nothing to give

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well I think you’d find out if you dare to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

You know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Did you ever place a bet?
Did you ever gamble anything for love?
What you give is what you get
But now you know it’s not enough

You say you need to travel far away
To make you think of something else
Well I think you’d find out if you dare to stay
That far away is a place inside yourself

You know better than me
You know better than anyone
You know better than me
You know better than me

Hey, Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes!:)

Heidi and I listened to Cruel To The Sensitive Kind, and here are the lyrics that we hear:

When my patience has stormed out the door

When my confidence up against the wall

When my nails are all bitten down, and not one second before

That's when you call, that's when you call

When my head hurts all the way to every strain of my hair

When your absence hangs like a thread in the air

When it seems so clear that you really don't care

Suddenly, you call, suddenly you call

What are my weapons?

I can't compete when all I get points for is to smile and be sweet

My Iron Gate closes, but you never notice. There's a war in my mind

Love is Cruel To The Sensitive Kind

When the moment has gone tired and cold

When the silence is out of control

When I've said the stupidisted things to try and fill this bottomless hole.

Finally you speak, finally you speak

What are my weapons..I can't compete (Chorus)

Oooh...(Repeat)

What are my weapons( chorus)

Hey! I think this link will help!! It will be much cheaper for you to order it from the U.K....compared to what we have to pay for this in the U.S.

But, our order has been in for awhile...will have to see how fast it arrives. We have ordered music from Denmark several times, and actually the shipping was very fast! Check out this link!

Lyrics to Sacre Coeur:

Poison raising through my veins
Assorted pull to the insane
A constant gravity to change
And I don’t know where to go

Paris breathes beneath my feet
Thirsty skin against concrete
My sacred heart misleading me
And I don’t know where to go
No I don’t know where to go

I could go home to my love and live the life I’ve always wanted
Or I could go on running off into the night lonely and haunted
And the strange thing is I don’t know which I’d prefer as I sit here and watch the sun set on Sacre Coeur

Paris falls under my eyes
History against one life
My sacred hearts on no ones side
And I don’t know where to go
No I don’t know where to go

I could go home to my love and live the life I’ve always wanted
Or I could go on running off into the night lonely and haunted
And the strange thing is I don’t know which I’d prefer as I sit here and watch the sun set, as I sit here and watch the sun set, as I sit here and watch the sun set

I could go home to my love and live the life I’ve always wanted
Or I could go on running off into the night lonely and haunted
I could go home to my love it’s all there if I wanted
But the sad thing is I don’t which I’d prefer as I sit here and watch the sunset on Sacre Coeur

well i listened to the album and i wasnt that satisfied. Maybe (i hope) i just have to get into it but i dont know, im missing something in it

I like the live version of craftmenship & poetry a lot more than this new album version....

Its Tinas voice and how she uses it which changed or i dont know
I definitely have to see her live cos it will make this LP much better for me then....

I felt the same way the first two times listening. But it seems the more I listen, the better the album is. So far I've had three different songs from the new album stuck in my head; this morning it was Night Cab, later it was Count to Ten and now Cruel to the Sensitive Kind can't get out.
Oh, and this is despite the fact, that I can't listen to music becauce I forgot my headphones at home...
I wouldn't worry if I were you - the album WILL grow on you soon and you will notice all the fine little details :D

I've put all the new lyrics in the list, but i miss "Night Cab (Epilogue)".
i Hope someone can write that.

^_-
The Epilogue is just an instrumental ending - no words or other mouth-made sounds whatsoever ;)

OOoops... My mistake... :o
It goes something like:
It's an expensive ride
but I love the sound of cold coins fall from my hand into his
carry me through the night
and ask me nothing but what my destination is
and all I can say is
Hang on, move on, go on, drive on, drive on, move on, go on, drive on (keep driving), move on, go on, drive on, hang on, move on, go on, drive on, hang on, move on, go on, drive on, hang on, move on, go on, drive on, (keep moving) hang on, move on, go on, drive on.

All the songs are great, i think!
..maybe most of all i love Sacre Coeur and Count To Ten!

oh, it's really lovable the Night Cab Epilogue!

The album is new and i've to listen to this still a lot of time, but i think it's the most "album" of Her works.
I've always loved Her melancholy in Her first albums, but Count To Ten is really a great great album!

Picking one song is just too difficult- I really love this album.
I would say Count to Ten, On the run. You know better, Night cab or Sacre coeur so that narrows it down to 5! Of course it is still early days to really get to know all the songs.

The vibe is different to In the Red and Tina's voice seems stronger. The album has an individual and coherent feel which characterises Tina's work. It definitely feels like a step forward and I like the direction it is going in! I just hope Tina's talent gets the recognition it deserves here in the UK.

Anyway back to listening to the CD!

Wooohoooo!! My CD arrived today!!! At a quick flick through of the tracks I'd say Count to ten and Craftsmanship and Poetry are currently top of my list. I need to listen to it all properly when im less excited (im like a little boy at christmas opening his presents at the moment!!) to get a real feel for the whole album.

ok,so i have listened fully to the album and i have to say that count to ten has grew on me massively after hearing it live a few times now.
You know better is such a good song, aswell asSacre Coeur.
I likes Night Cab the other night played live...liked it better than album version.
Cruel to the Sensitive Kind has to be my fave. The lyrics. The melody.Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!:D
I have to say On the Run has to my least fave ever since hearing it on the myspace page, but you never know,it may grow on me yet!

Night Cab can't have made a good impression on me as I can't actually remember it being played at the London gig the other night! :(

Have heard Count to Ten live twice now and is growing to be my favourite Tina song of them all! Love it! :) My friend Bequi, whom I took to the Tina gig, was still talking about how well arranged the song was on the way home.

I too am still not sure of On the Run.

Can't wait to get the album. Will wait for the UK release though, don't really want the Danish edition.

Hi, all! I'm from Brazil and have fallen in love with Tina since I first heard her songs from In The Red. Oh, well, I still don't have any album of her, but I intend to buy as soon as possible.

Ok, I downloaded her songs... I must confess, but what the heck! I would have to pay 50 dollars to have one!! Most of this cost would go to taxes from here... But I'll def buy it as soon as I fix some issues...

I loved her new songs! I can't stop listening! I think I won't ever see any Tina's concert here unless she comes with Zero 7...

Bah! One day I'll fly away to Denmark, just to see her!!!

Best Wishes, my friends!

We got our signed Cds! :D They were at the post office Thursday, but we could not pick them up until today. Fairly fast shipping to here...about ten days. We immediately took one of them to our neice Brooke who went with us to see Tina in L.A. She is thrilled.

Ok, I really cannot say at this point that I have a favorite song. Like them all very much. :) Heidi is partial to Night Cab. It is an awesome album, and we will do as much as we can to promote it.

Neat to have the Danish version....goes great with our collection. Of course we will get the U.S. release also to complete the collection.

Well, Heidi and I are off to see another great Danish lady tonight in Chicago. Sharon den Adel with Within Temptation. Tina and Sharon will get equal play time on the drive there! ;)

If you've ever heard Edguy, you've heard cheese metal. I don't know why that term hasn't caught on yet.

Ok, I think I get it! I just do not understand why anyone would feel that they are "Cheesy" ?

Heidi and I think they are a great band, and we have spent some money collecting the Cds. Really looking forward to seeing the band at a small venue here in Iowa on a Friday night only 45 miles from our home. :) Really hope we can talk with Floor and others from the band. That would certainly make this a great year! Especially after taliking with Tina and Sharon this year!

well after waiting nearly 20 days for it to come in the post, i finally received Tina's 'Count To Ten' today, and gotta say i'm pleasantly surprised with it! :)

gotta admit, for some reason i was worried about hearing this album, with it not being so long since the 'In The Red' release, i didn't think Tina's new songs would be able to develop enough in the studio to grow into a fresh new sound for her.....but hey, what do i know?! haha.

i'm glad i was proved wrong, and am amazed with how this album sounds like a new turn in Tina's musical development. the production is just stunning isn't it?!

my fav's from the album at first listen: On the Run, You Know Better, Sacre Coeur & My Business

ah, i'm off to go and listen some more :)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing today as I listened to it in my car for about the 20th time, that everyone here knows it's great so why bother preaching to the converted blah blah blah. But, so what?!! This album kills! I'll be man enough to admit it: the song "Count To Ten" moves me to tears just about everytime I hear it—not a good thing if you're driving, and I had to keep my shades on when I went into a store shortly thereafter—because of the way the haunting strings come in towards the end, and especially her whispering 1 through 10 at the very end as she's singing the chorus, stopping cold when she says, "...ten". I only really picked up on that a few listens ago. Brilliant, brillant stuff.

Tina is a gifted songwriter, a fantastic singer and drop-dead gorgeous—like it or not, in today's beauty-obsessed culture, looks do help—and it's only a matter of time before she breaks big here in the states where we tend to like anything European and/or blond. I'm rather surprised that during her recent dates in California she wasn't on any of the shows based in L.A. like Late Late Show w/Craig Ferguson, Last Call w/Carson Daly or Jimmy Kimmel, where she appeared previously with Zero 7. All three of these shows feature up-and-coming and alternative-level musical acts, so I'd think she'd be a natural. While shows will always welcome a 'name' artist like Sheryl Crow, I assume Tina's people would have to lobby the producers to get her booked since she is relatively unknown here, and I don't know if they're making the effort and getting turned down, or if she even HAS people. Is she managing herself while touring? When she's back in New York, Conan is another who features less-than-mega acts. Letterman and Leno are a tougher wall to crack. I want her to get some decent exposure here! The songs being used in the TV drama was good, but people need to put a lovely face and name with the song...

Okay; I'm done...and now back to continue the search for the elusive b-sides and rarities...

Just a minor oddity, which many of you guys might already have noticed (apart from the fact that you are probably more used to the international cd cover than the Danish)...

http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/9520/cttfronthf4.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Well, the (Danish) cover of Count To Ten really honors the number 10:

- The number 10 is part of the TITLE (Count to TEN)
- There are 10 letters in the TITLE Count to ten
- There are 10 SONGS listed on the back
- There are nine "persons" + Tina pictured on the front, which equal 10 PEOPLE
- There are 10 letters in Tina's NAME (Tina Dickow)

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1492/cttbackgd5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

... unfortunately, I couldn't find 10 curiosities... :p
