just thought i'd start a thread about the Newcastle gig tonight, at the carling academy.
well what can i say? after quite few years of waiting to see Tina, tonight was the night it finally happened - and what an experience it was!...a room filled with only about 50 people...one intimate gig = absolutley class! :)
i was expecting full band tonight, but glad it wasn't as hearing the songs acoustic and stripped down was fantastic, her guitarist Dennis was fab too - made those special touches hit within the songs at the right time.
Tina was spot on tonight with her vocals, just as warm and open as on the album. my b/f had never heard anything by her except zero seven's 'home' and was blown away by her - which was a bonus.
was nice to hear new song 'magic', as well as a couple from the e.p. 'far'. never been in academy 2 before with such few people as was there tonight, but it made all the better for the recording i made! (see bottom of this message for more details)
anyways it was great to meet Tina at the end, and ask her to sign my two albums...but i totally forgot to ask her a few questions i wanted to ask, but ohhh well. one good thing she said is she'll be touring England again in october, so can't wait for that! also great to come home and stick on metro radio fm, only to hear Tina come in right from the gig and do a live song! you can listen to this on the following page>>>

click on 'monday' underneith 'alan's night owls', its quite near the end. i even got a mention a little after it :) as emailed Alan Robson after the gig, let him know how it was - he loves her stuff and has been trying to hoy it down peoples ears for a while now.
got to mention that opening act Teitur was great as well, i've liked his album since it first hit the stores, so was well suprised and pleased to hear he was opening up. took him a while to play songs from the album though lol.
all in all was great to see in one night two artists i think are freaking great, in a lil venue :)
