I actually never bought a record until I was 15 I think. My brother bought a few bits here and there and I just listened to that. My first album was 'Jagged Little Pill' by Alanis Morrisette but that was a cassette. Brilliant at the time, but since then Alanis is just annoying. Probably the first actual compact disc I bought was something by 'Dog Eat Dog'. Anyone remember those guys? I wonder whatever happened to them.

Dog Eat Dog, they had hits with Isms and Rocky is all I remember. And they sawed the roof of a car in a video :p My first CD was either Garth Brooks the Hits (obviously) or a live Green Day thingy - can't remember the name... Or which came first :o

Yea those tracks were from their second album, they first made it big with the catchy single 'No Fronts' which was great. At the time.
Anyway, many years back - or so it seems, I did one of those silly online 'What Music personality are you?' surveys. Apparently I was most like Garth Brooks. I've since treated the accuracy of such surveys with more than just an air of suspicion.

Man, I feel old. I'd already lost my virginity by the time the Spice Girls came out. ;)
I remember buying We Can't Dance by Genesis when I was 10 or so...loved that album. (still do) And to bring things full circle, I bought tickets to see Genesis in Chicago, after 15 long years of waiting. Can't wait. :)

Ha! The 8-track was phased out before many on this board were even born! :)
Here is a link which will explain:

I just wish we would have had the intelligence to hold onto the player and all the tapes, as many are worth a fortune now! :(

Yeah, yeah... I actually did buy the album before he went on Beverly Hills.. But of course it was an extra bonus to watch him on screen as well ;). I still really like Hold On... and the rest of the album :o.
