Oh, gosh..could you imagine what a tour it would be with Tina and Charlotte Martin together? :)

I stumbled on Charlotte Martin's myspace via the Over The Rhine board, and she had a song off her new LP that I quite liked, but I couldn't find that album. But I did get her first album, and I was rather disappointed...she's obviously a talented gal, but that whole album sounded exactly like Tori Amos. We all bear our influences on our sleeve at times, but that was a little too close to Tori for me. I'm still hoping to find a used copy of her new LP though, since the one song I heard seemed like a bit more of a step forward for her.

I actually think someone like Vienna Teng would be a good pairing for a Tina tour.

I agree, Vienna Teng would also be a great choice. We saw her in Ames, Iowa recently for the first time, and she is awesome. She is going to record a live DVD at the World Cafe in Philadelphia, I believe Jan. 21 that I sure wish we could go to.:(

Yes, Charlotte's earlier music has been compared to Tori Amos by many. Tori was an influence with her along with Kate Bush and many others. Charlotte's new CD, we consider it to be her best. After seeing her 11 times and attending her live DVD recording (which is awesome), we don't see the similarities anymore. Each of them are singer/songwriters who have their own superb styles.
